Business Development Manager or Senior Business Development Manager

Home-based in France with regular commuting to Grenoble and oversea travels.

CYTOO is a preclinical stage Contract Research Organization focused on the development and commercialization of innovative cell-based assays derived from first-in-class skin and muscle tissue models. CYTOO’s proprietary physiological and HCS compatible assays address the following markets:

  • Muscle: pharmaceutical and biotechnology, animal health and nutraceutical;
  • Skin: cosmetology and dermatology


To help supporting its high sales growth, CYTOO is expanding its direct sales force.


Position Summary:

Direct sales of the company's services, R&D and licensing agreements within a geographic territory (US) for both skeletal muscle and skin related markets.


Duties and responsibilities:

• Identify, qualify, pursue and close new opportunities within the US territory

• Propose high value deal to the customers regarding the implementation of CYTOO’s assays, know-how and expertise in support of drug discovery and toxicology

• Communicate technical information to a sophisticated audience

• Develop and maintain strategic account plans and work closely with sales team colleagues on executing against those plans

• Provide accurate forecasts and reports of sales activity in a timely manner


Essential Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• An MSc or PhD degree in biological science or related field is required

• A minimum of 4 years of proven sales experience of cell-based assay services within a CRO or of business development of R&D agreements

• Excellent sales skills including prospecting, public presentation and communication, negotiating, listening, and closing

• Ability to translate customer needs into a meaningful proposal or statement of work

• Perfect understanding of contract negotiation is required (Confidential Agreement, Master Service Agreement, Research Agreement, and Licensing Agreement)

• Existing business network within pharma and dermo-cosmetic’s cell-based assay development

• Knowledge of key accounts and relevant decision makers and experience selling into large pharma and biotechnology companies

• A demonstrated ability to promote a sense of urgency to complete tasks and deliver results on time

• Proficient with MS Office products and Salesforce

• ~30 to 50% overnight travel required including 2 days a week in Grenoble offices

• Native or native-like fluency in English mandatory
